16th November 2020 – Once again, the original racehorse syndicate business – Old Gold Racing – has capitalised on its creative juices, this time with a cunning campaign to launch the sale of their fifth racehorse.

Avid musician and Chief Executive of Old Gold Racing, Ed Seyfried, is renowned for his spontaneous musical performance on and off the racecourse.

One particular song, written and performed by Seyfried – DancingOnTheEdge – has become a long-time favourite of Paul Nicholls.

With reactions quicker that a Strictly Come Dancing professional, the trainer reserved the horse name and set about finding a free moving thoroughbred.

Nicholls, said: “I love the song, which Ed regularly plays on the guitar and I just thought it would be fantastic to get in quick, reserve the name and have a catchy tune for a top quality horse.

“It’s great that Old Gold Racing is going from strength-to-strength, and I am delighted to have found them an absolute gem of a filly out of Kapgarde.

Old Gold Racing owners will be in for a real treat – for the long term.”

DancingOnTheEdge’s pedigree boasts sibling association with the King George VI Chase champion Clan Des Obeaux, Grade 1 winner Solo and quality chasers Dolos, Edgardo Sol and As De Mee.

As a three-turning-four-year-old, DancingOnTheEdge has some maturing to do and will be targeting bumper contests in 2021.
