READY FREDDIE GO was a well-backed winner of the Patersons Of Greenoakhill Handicap on Saints & Sinners night at Hamilton Park. Sent off at 4/1, the Ollie Pears-trained gelding slammed Boogie Time by a length and a quarter.

Winning jockey Harry Russell said: “He has plenty of speed and he loves Thirsk although he has won elsewhere. This is the fourth time I’ve won on him and the second this season already.”

Paul Mulrennan was in great form and rode a short-priced double on Wait To Excel and Amanzoe.

He said: “Wait To Excel was a very willing partner and he keep responding in very game style. As he matures he should only get better and stay further.

“Amanzoe is a filly at the top of her game and we maybe won a bit too far in the end! But she too is a nice type going forward.”

Florida Filly was a shock 40/1 winner of the maiden fillies stakes for Jamie Gormley and Iain Jardine.

Gormley said: “She finished full of running and I could hardly pull her up! She isn’t straightforward and I’ve ridden her here before and I know her from her work on the gallops at home. The horses are all running well and it’s nice that I’ve also been amongst the winners.”
