Racing returned to Catterick, three months later than scheduled, on Thursday 2 July. Due to the ongoing restrictions and social distancing measures in place, it was a very different kind of raceday, taking place behind closed doors and without a crowd, but it was great to be back! Hopefully some of you will have been able to enjoy the action from home as we were treated to some close finishes and a double from Harrison Shaw, riding TILTILYS ROCK and CALEVADE. Our feature race of the day went the way of SLY MINX, ridden by Ben Curtis for Mick Channon and owners Stoneham Park Stud. Jason Hart Wins Millbry Hill Ride of the Meeting Millbry Hill Country Store have kindly continued their sponsorship of the Ride of the Meeting Series this season. The jockey judged to have had the ride of the meeting will win a £20 Millbry Hill voucher to spend at one of their stores or online, and be entered into the running for the Ride of the Season title.

Building Works Update

Despite lockdown, work has been progressing on the new Owners & Trainers building at Catterick and the two-story trackside building has transformed dramatically since March. Designed by Elliott Architects, the building draws on the history of horse racing and the buildings of the region. With a restaurant on the first floor and a bar at ground floor level, the building will offer excellent views south towards the racecourse and north over the parade ring.
