The ‘chefs in residence’ confirmed for Royal Ascot 2020 perfectly illustrate this with a collective nine Michelin Stars and an abundance of coveted accolades.

Monica Galetti, Chef Proprietor of Mere in London, makes her debut at the 2020 Royal Meeting as Chef in Residence of The Balmoral in the Royal Enclosure.

Born in Samoa and brought up in New Zealand, Monica moved to Britain in 1999 to work alongside Michel Roux Jnr at Le Gavroche.

She became a household name in 2008 when she joined the BBC2 team as a judge on Masterchef:The Professionals.

Another brand-new name for 2020, Brett Graham, two-Michelin star Head Chef of The Ledbury, takes the helm of ON5.

Taking over from Phil Howard, who he worked under for several years at The Square, Brett will make his debut in the Queen Anne Enclosure’s awardwinning restaurant on the fifth floor of the Grandstand.

Two Michelin-starred chef Raymond Blanc OBE will once again take up residence in the prestigious Panoramic Restaurant in the Royal Enclosure.

Returning to the restaurant for a fifth year, he will be back with a tailored menu and a refined service which promises to be one of the finest gastronomic experiences found at the racecourse.

As the founder of one of London’s most talked about restaurants in recent years – HIDE in Mayfair – Ollie Dabbous will return to Royal Ascot to launch a brand-new Royal Enclosure restaurant named Holyroodhouse.

Having opened his first restaurant Dabbous in 2012 to unprecedented critical acclaim, Ollie opened his hotly-anticipated restaurant HIDE in 2018 and was soon awarded its first Michelin Star. Returning for a third year, Simon Rogan will once again host his restaurant in the Royal Enclosure Gardens and curate the menu served in the Green Yard Restaurant, also in the Royal Enclosure.

Simon currently holds an impressive four stars across his dining portfolio in the 2020 Michelin Guide.

Speaking about Fine Dining at Royal Ascot in 2020, Jonathan Parker, Director of Food & Beverage at Ascot Racecourse, said: “Our portfolio of Royal Ascot Fine Dining has gone from strength to strength in recent years and 2020 is no exception as we welcome more Michelin stars than ever before.

In fact, I believe Royal Ascot to be the single biggest collection of stars – both on and off the track – of any British sporting event."

“We are excited to have Raymond Blanc OBE, Simon Rogan and Ollie Dabbous back with us as they continue to delight our customers with their much-loved dining concepts, while we also welcome two new exceptionally talented and highly respected chef-restauranteurs to the Royal Meeting next year in Monica Galetti and Brett Graham." “Ascot Racecourse is a leading light in sporting venue gastronomy, and we have an incredible platform to showcase some of the world’s top chefs.

Over the past 300 years, Ascot has established itself as the highlight summer event in society’s calendar and the food and drink plays an intrinsic part of a racegoers day.”

Royal Ascot promises five days of world-class horse racing, high fashion, pageantry and Fine Dining as the racecourse opens its gates to 300,000 racegoers from across the globe.

From the arrival of the Royal Procession at 2pm to communal singing around the Bandstand after the last race, each day of Royal Ascot is a truly remarkable and memorable occasion.
