2021 Sales Season at Tattersalls Ascot concludes with top price of £39,000

The 2021 sales season at Tattersalls Ascot concluded today with 50 horses selling for an aggregate of £277,100, a median of £2,450 and an average of £5,542.

The clearance finished on 74%.

The highlight of the day was an offering from Paul and Oliver Coles’ Whatcombe Stables. Celtic Art (Lot 36), a four-year-old son of Mastercraftsman who is a winner and also claimed Group 3 and Listed placings in his career to date, was sold to Tom Malone and Jeremy Scott for £39,000.

Sen Ding (Lot 38), a 78 rated two-year-old son of Mehmas, previously in training with Ger Lyons and consigned by Castledillon Stud was sold to Stuart Williams for £26,000. The lightly raced gelding is out of a sister to the highly talented MAHAATHEER.

Lot 38 SEN DING

The two-time winner Caribou (Lot 13) by the sought-after sire Adaay from Denis Coakley’s Keeper’s Stables was sold to Robert Stephens Racing and Ricci Bloodstock. The three-year-old, rated 79 on the flat, is a sibling to five winners and from the family of Champion two-year-old filly BLUE DUSTER.
