Rod Street, Chief Executive of British Champions Series, said:

“It has been wonderful to be at Ascot today to celebrate the 10th anniversary of QIPCO British Champions Day.

“Last year the raceday was held behind closed doors because of the pandemic, so to be able to welcome back more than 25,000 spectators, the biggest crowd at Ascot since 2019, has been fantastic and created a truly special atmosphere.

“As is befitting a world class raceday, Champions Day has always served up incredible racing and today has been no different with Baaeed showing his superstar credentials in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes (sponsored by QIPCO), Hollie Doyle striking again with Trueshan and Sealiway landing the QIPCO Champion Stakes.

“It has also been tremendously exciting to have the Champion Jockey title go down to the wire and our congratulations go to Oisin Murphy, as well as Champion Apprentice Marco Ghiani and Godolphin, the Champion Owner.”
