The revised date is due to the complications surrounding COVID-19 and the later date means the catalogue is currently only available to view online and shows provisional lot numbers for the time being as official lot numbers will be confirmed when the catalogue is published.

The later date also means the Doncaster Spring and August Sales will be amalgamated into one three day sale and the proposed 2020 format will be as follows:

•Tuesday 28 July – Spring Store Sale

•Wednesday 29 July – August Sale Store Session | Spring HIT/P2P Sale

•Thursday 30 July – Spring HIT/P2P Sale Entries for the August Sale Store Session remain open, as are entries for the Spring HIT/P2P Sale, and all are due by Wednesday 10 June.

A single catalogue encompassing the three days will be produced on 24 June.

The 2020 Doncaster Spring Store Sale catalogue looks well placed to continue the sale’s good run of form on the track this season with graduates including COPPERHEAD, EMITOM, IF THE CAP FITS, MIDNIGHT SHADOW, RAMSES DE TEILLEE etc. all making headlines.

Goffs UK Managing Director Tim Kent commented:

“We approached this year’s sale in a slightly different way as we looked to place more emphasis on quality over quantity than has been the case in recent years. As such, we worked with vendors to ensure a classy catalogue which has enabled us to compile a vastly improved group of horses when compared to previous editions.

“We were fortunate to have completed the store inspections before the COVID pandemic struck Europe but have had to make some changes to the format of the sale in keeping with government directives.

As a result we are confident that we will give our consignors and purchasers the best possible chance of a successful sale.

“We have been very well supported by our vendors and have been entrusted with some outstanding physicals to match the wonderful pedigrees on offer.

The sale will take place a month after the resumption of NH racing in the UK and we look forward to welcoming a strong and diverse buying bench to Doncaster at the end of July.”

Spring Store Sale graduate IF THE CAP FITS, pictured winning the Gr.1 Ryanair Stayers Hurdle, added to his top class wins with victory in the Gr.2 Coral Hurdle at Ascot.
