Ascot Racecourse today announces that Hayley Turner will once again be one of the star names in action for the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup on Saturday 7th August.

Turner is the leading jockey in the history of the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup with 297 points having ridden eight winners at the event from 13 appearances.

She took home the Alistair Haggis Silver Saddle in 2018 and 2019 and has also been on the winning team three times.

Turner said: "I'm excited that the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup is around the corner. It's one of my favourite days of the year. The girls team is always strong and we get lots of supporters which is great. It’s going to be fun!"

The full make-up of the teams will be announced in due course but due to current complexities surrounding long haul international travel, there will be different teams this year, which is the 20th running of the competition. Great Britain and Ireland will split into two teams and go head-to-head for the first time since 2011.

There will remain a Ladies’ team and the Rest of the World team will incorporate the European team and likely comprise of just European based jockeys.

Also confirmed today is that whilst the jockeys will ride in team silks as normal, each of the 12 riders will wear a different coloured cap which will remain constant through the day.

Jockeys riding for the Ladies team will wear cerise and black coloured silks; the Great Britain team will wear blue and black silks, the Ireland team will wear green and black silks; and the Rest of the World team yellow and black silks.
