A slow starter on his debut at the Lanarkshire venue 16-days earlier, he left the stalls like a rocket as he made all for a two and a half length success under Jack Garritty.

“He learnt a lot from last time and it was still a decent effort,” Garritty said. “He’s a lovely big horse and we’ve always liked him. I’d say he’d get seven-furlongs in time and he is a nice prospect.”

John Quinn enjoyed a one-two in the featured conditions stakes as Keep Busy pipped stable companion and hot favourite El Astronaute by a neck.

Winning jockey P J McDonald said: “I knew conditions would suit this filly as she loves soft ground. Her form this season has been alright so this wasn’t unexpected. Once I got upsides El Astronaute I was sure she she would go on and win.”
