HAMILTON PARK preview By Gordon Brown
It is the latest behind-closed-doors meeting in Scotland although owners are now being allowed to watch the races in which their horses are involved.
All attendees will have again had to complete a COVID-19 education module and an on-line health questionnaire while they will be asked further health questions and have their temperature taken on arrival at the course.
In areas such as the paddock, appropriate PPE - such as face masks - must be worn and social distancing protocols should be observed.
Trained in Yorkshire by Roger Fell, Smeaton romped to a course and distance victory a fortnight ago and has been raised 7lbs for that three and a quarter-length strike.
Opposition to the top-weight include recent Redcar winner Global Exceed and Guvenor’s Choice who is a 15-race turf maiden.
The eight-race card opens with the British Stallion Studs EBF Novice Auction Stakes and Source Of Wealth is in action at Hamilton Park again.
Following a close fourth on her debut in June, David O’Meara’s cheaply-bought filly was pipped on the line and denied by a short-head over 6f eight-days ago.
