Goffs Ireland Sales News - Orby graduate Lucky Vega leads a 1-2-3-4 in the Group 1 Keeneland Phoenix Stakes

Lucky Vega looks set to contest further juvenile Group 1s, with the Goffs Vincent O’Brien National Stakes and Middle Park Stakes two options for the colt, while Sunday’s win also prompted immediate quotes for next year’s QIPCO 2000 Guineas.

The cover star of the 2020 Orby catalogue, Lucky Vega has several strong Goffs connections and highlights the outstanding quality available at Kildare Paddocks.

Most recently, he was consigned as a yearling at last year’s Orby Sale by Baroda Stud where he sold to Michael Donohoe of BBA Ireland on behalf of Mr Zhang’s Yulong Investments.

As a foal he was sold by breeders Kilcarn Stud to Michael Roy at the November Foal Sale in 2018, while Lucky Vega’s dam, Queen Of Carthage, also went through the ring at Goffs that year when sold by Kilcarn Stud to Tipper House at the November Breeding Stock Sale.

Second and third places were subsequently reversed, with Doncaster Premier Yearling and 2020 Norfolk Stakes winner The Lir Jet taking the runner up spot and Goffs November Foal Aloha Star, winner of the Group 2 Airlie Stud Stakes last time out, in third.

Laws Of Indices, a Goffs Autumn Yearling purchase who won the Group 2 Railway Stakes last month, was a fast finishing fourth.
