GOFFS UK SALES NEWS - Two-Day Doncaster August Sale Catalogue Now Online

Published 2021/07/20

The Doncaster August Sale will host a new NH yearling section this year, a session that is usually part of the January Sale but was suspended this year due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Over the two days 165 horses-in-training and pointers will be offered on Wednesday from 11am, followed by 134 stores and 84 NH yearlings on Thursday from 10am.

The August Sale has once again had a strong year on the track headed by two Cheltenham Festival winners, TIGER ROLL, who claimed a remarkable fifth victory at the Cheltenham Festival in March in the Cross Country Chase, and SKY PIRATE, winner of the Grade 3 Grand Annual Challenge Cup.

SCEPTICAL has also been an amazing success story, costing just £2,800 from this sale in 2019 and going on to win four consecutive races before finishing third in Royal Ascot’s Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes and second in the Group 1 Darley July Cup.

Goffs UK Managing Director Tim Kent commented on the 2021 catalogue:

“This year we have produced a larger catalogue than usual due to the inclusion of the NH yearlings, along with a big jump in store numbers, and they have combined to create a quality day on Thursday which will offer some attractive pinhooking and racing prospects.

Buyers can take confidence that this sale continues to yield results having produced two Cheltenham Festival winners this year in Tiger Roll and Sky Pirate.

“The August Sale will also feature the TBA NH Breeders’ Awards on Wednesday night, an event which has been rescheduled from its traditional May date where it is normally held in conjunction with our Spring Sale. The awards evening will once again be proudly sponsored by Goffs UK and tickets can be purchased through the TBA.

“With a quality catalogue offering something for everyone, along with the TBA NH Breeders’ Awards, the August Sale shapes as an unmissable summer NH sale and we look forward to welcoming everyone to Doncaster on 4 – 5 August.”
