Total Recall, trained by Willie Mullins, winning the 2020 Goffs Thyestes Chase. 2021 marks a decade of Goffs’ title sponsorship of the €100,000 Grade A Thyestes Chase, one of the most treasured days on the Irish National Hunt calendar. While racing takes place behind closed doors this year, it will be shown live on both RTE Racing and Racing TV. Last year’s winner was the Slaneyville Syndicate’s Total Recall who provided Willie Mullins with an eighth Thyestes victory. Entries for Goffs Thyestes Chase are available here.

Commenting on the Goffs Thyestes Chase, Gowran Park's Eddie Scally said:

"The association between Gowran Park & Goffs has been a superb match for our iconic Goffs Thyestes Chase and in these particularly testing times for everyone the continued support of Goffs is greatly appreciated by not only all associated with Gowran Park but the wider racing community."

The Dublin Racing Festival at Leopardstown, the first major festival of the year, features a weekend of top class jumps racing including the €100,000 Grade 2 Goffs Future Stars I.N.H Flat Race on the opening day. Appreciate It, also trained by Willie Mullins, won last year’s Bumper and lived up to that promise by going on to land the Grade 1 Future Champions Novice Hurdle at the Leopardstown Christmas Festival.

Tim Husbands, CEO of Leopardstown Racecourse said: “We would like to extend our sincere thanks and gratitude to Goffs for their continued support of The Goffs Future Stars Bumper at Dublin Racing Festival, a race which has established itself so prominently in the National Hunt calendar. It is only through the support of our valued sponsors that, despite the current challenging times, we can continue to provide such an incredible weekend of the highest quality of National Hunt racing.”

Both sponsorships coincide with the start of the Land Rover Sale inspections, when the Goffs team of Gerry Hogan, Peter Molony, Kevin Ross and Neil Walsh begin their search for more stars of the future. Part 1 of last year’s Land Rover recorded the highest average and median of any store sale and 2021 will see Part 1 extended to two days to accommodate a greater number of vendors who increasingly send their best to Goffs.

Commenting on both sponsorships, Goffs Group Chief Executive Henry Beeby said: “We are delighted to be continuing our support of Irish NH racing with these two key sponsorships. It has never been more important for the industry to support one another and Goffs is pleased to be able to do so in this small way.

“Like everyone we would love to be at Gowran and Leopardstown for these two wonderful and iconic race meetings but we will attend virtually and make the best of it. However, one constant will be that the two races coincide with the launch of our Land Rover Sale campaign and we have already been inundated with classy nominations to a sale that has fast become the first choice for many leading NH breeders.”
