Enquiries (C. McKinnes & O. Murphy, R. While, N. Evans) and an Appeal (A. Thorne) to be heard by the Disciplinary Panel on 26 & 27 November 2020

The independent Disciplinary Panel of the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) will convene on Thursday 26 November 2020 to hear an Appeal brought by Alexander Thorne, a licensed jockey, against the decision of the Stewards at Taunton on 12 November 2020 to find him in breach of Rule (G)9 and suspend him for 21 days for failing to weigh in having finished first aboard TWIN STAR (IRE) in The Invest South West Handicap Hurdle Race (Class 3).

It is noted that this Appeal is against penalty only.

11.00am - Callum McKinnes & Olly Murphy The independent Disciplinary Panel of the BHA will convene on Thursday 26 November 2020 to consider whether or not Callum McKinnes, a licensed jockey and the rider of WORLD TRIP, is in breach of Rule (F)37 and whether Olly Murphy, the licensed trainer of WORLD TRIP, is in breach of Rule (F)39 following the running of The Star Sports Mares' Novices' Hurdle Race (Class 4) (GBB race) at Hereford on 21 October 2020.

The Stewards on the day found that the rider and trainer had intentionally failed to ensure that their horse ran on its merits.

The matter was referred by the Stewards to the BHA Head Office and WORLD TRIP was suspended from running for 40 days.

Friday 27 November 10.00am - Ryan While

i. The independent Disciplinary Panel of the BHA will convene on Friday 27 November 2020 to consider whether or not Ryan While, formerly a licensed jockey, is in breach of Rule (D)61 of the pre-September 2019 Rules of Racing having failed to supply a sample when required to do so at Bath Racecourse on 16 July 2019; and

ii. Whether he is in breach Rule (A)31.2 by misleading or endeavouring to mislead a BHA employee during a telephone conversation on 16 July 2019; and iii.

Whether he is in breach Rule (A)31.2 by misleading or endeavouring to mislead a BHA Investigating Officer during a recorded interview on 13 August 2019.

12.00pm - Nathan Evans The independent Disciplinary Panel of the BHA will convene on Friday 27 November 2020 to consider whether or not Nathan Evans, a licensed jockey, is in breach of Rule (K)46 of the pre-September 2020 Rules of Racing due to the presence of banned substance benzoylecgonine, a metabolite of cocaine, in a sample collected at York racecourse on 20 August 2020.
