BHA confirms all-Hurdle/NHF card at Taunton on Wednesday 27 October

The BHA has today confirmed that Taunton's fixture on Wednesday 27 October will be an all-Hurdle/NHF card to aid watering activity in the lead up to the meeting.

Two Steeple Chases had been scheduled for the fixture but both have been abandoned, with one additional Hurdle race added to make a six-race card.

With little rain having fallen at the racecourse and no further forecast before the meeting, it has been agreed in conjunction with the BHA Inspectorate that this action offers the best chance of allowing the meeting to go ahead safely.

The removal of the Steeple Chases will allow racecourse staff to focus the necessary watering on the Hurdle course exclusively, in order to create the safest possible racing surface.

Entries will be taken on Thursday 21 October, prior to declarations on Monday 25 October.
